iTero® Digital Impression System
Digital Orthodontic Impressions in Farmington Hills
Goop, gagging, and pain are no longer an issue with our digital impression system! Your orthodontist can obtain a highly accurate digital impression of your teeth and jaw using an iTero scanner. The new method fully avoids tray and putty imprints, which feel like putting a large wad of gum into your mouth.
The old method is extremely inconvenient and frequently leads to numerous rounds of impressions being taken, some of which are rejected, broken, or misplaced. The iTero scanner ensures a more accurate impression right from the outset, leading to better therapy and a more pleasant patient experience. Digital imprints also allow you to see your teeth in 3D in real time, which improves communication during your assessment and treatment.
How Do Digital Impressions Work?
Using cutting-edge optical technology, the iTero scanner digitally scans the structure of the teeth and gums. The scanner is a small, portable wand. The scanning procedure can be paused and restarted as many times as necessary once your orthodontist starts it.
A radiation-free laser scans your mouth, and in as little as two to three minutes, the laser creates a digitally flawless, three-dimensional impression of your teeth and soft tissue structures. You’ll be able to track the scans’ progress using digital software, which will include a 3D model of your teeth on our computer screen. Any orthodontic treatment, including Invisalign®, can be done with the iTero scanner.
